Marker does the job - but only just!
I ordered this single Sharpie online, which might have been a mistake, as it arrived with the ink slightly dried out and in a small plastic bag. Next time I will purchase pens/sharpies in store, in their original packaging, and hopefully the ink will flow smoothly.

Black Sharpie
Sharpie has been around for a long time for good reason. I have about 4 or 5 of them and one of them the tip and ink pad got separated from the bottom of the pen. But other than that, all the others work great.

Exactly what I was looking for!!
I have a huge old map that I want to give to my grandaughters but it is really hard to see the outlines of the states so I redrew the out lines with the sharpie. It worked wonderfully for this project.
