I use only an Atlantis Exact Fine while writing.
I'm an author of eight books and began each one, jotting with a Bic Atlantis Exact. It provides beautiful flow, continually keeping up with my creative writing jags!

Prefer other brands
Ink was rough, too light, and pen felt too firm. Purchased all the types of Atlantis pens in this category. Will not repurchase.

Too skinny
These pens seem to write just fine. Nice fine tip and smooth enough. They are just super skinny pens and feel a little more difficult to control.

These pens leave blotches of ink
I’m very disappointed in these pens. They claim to have “ultra smooth writing”, but they leave blotches of ink on the paper when you use them. I definitely would not recommend these pens.

BIC Glide Retractable Ballpoint Pen
This has been my "go-to" pen for several years. Former name was Atlantis. Ink flows smoothly. Ink doesn't leak to other side of paper. No globs.

Changed Product - Buyer Beware!
These used to be my favorite pens, but in the past year or so, Bic changed the product and they're now manufactured in Tunisia (instead of France). They are not the same quality pen - they don't write smoothly, and the ink blots and smears. And what is with the clear caps that are on all the pen tips that you have to remove before you can even use the pen? I will nev...
