The Wired Powerhouse for the WiFi 7 Era
The ASUS RT-BE88U is an absolute unit, especially if your house is cluttered with smart gear. I’ve got dozens of bulbs, plugs, and cameras that used to clog up my old network, but the Smart Home Master feature (now called "Network" in the app) let me dump them all onto a dedicated IoT SSID. Asus Mesh Success in Multi Level Home
Three Asus mesh routers solved challenging weak spots in our home network. The RT-BE88U served as the Mesh hub. The ability to bind devices to particular mesh nodes made the system work well and stay working repeatedly. This was crucial to achieve the performance needed for some devices in the network.

A powerful router with great security
The setup of my Asus 88u router went well with the only hiccup was finding the NAT passthrough for my server. There are two separate places in the menu; one for ip6 and the other for ip4.

Experience with RT-BE88U
Straighforward to configure and performance is very good. Much more obscure to setup multiple SSID's than older units. Configuring the "table" for the MAC to IP assignments used by the DHCP server is nearly impossible for more than a handful of mappings.
