I bought a jbl 5 because the battery quit on my 3, on my 5 if I get a call the speaker quits same with incoming emails or messages, my 3 would allow acall to ring through and then just pick back up, I tried your help, chat and messaging but my need didnt fit a catagory

Great sound but...
The sound is great. Unfortunately the speaker disconnects or turns off. My previous phone had the same issue. I have a Clip 4 without the issue and enjoy the sound but was hoping to upgrade with a new and improved model.

We appreciate your feedback. If your JBL Clip 5 turns off randomly, please make sure that the speaker is fully charged before using it. If this still does not resolve the issue, proceed to perform the reset. To reset the speaker, remove the speaker from your source device's Bluetooth settings. Power on the speaker, then press and hold the Volume + button and Play/Pause button together for 2 seconds until the speaker turns off. Pair the speaker again to your device to see if it fixes the issue. Be careful with customization..
I bought this for a client gift, and am glad I bought two. One of them came out with crisp lines with our logo, the other had the logo at a slight angle and was not accepted. The sound is clear and charge works well. I was disappointed in the customization.

Great sound.
Great sound, colour, good weight. Only one downside, the 'handle clip' is too small to attach high enough in the shower, the old one was deeper and fitted perfectly.

Perfectly honest I can't say as I can tell a difference between this and my JBL clip 4 Hopefully the clip does not break on this one and the charging port does not quit making a connection to where I cant charge it No more like the 4 did

Great speaker, ok logo.
The speaker is so good! I wish I knew that the personalization should have been in bigger font. The pictures do not show actual look. Close, but not 100% accurate. That’s probably my fault for picking a greyscale logo.

Don’t pay extra for the picture personalization
The speaker quality is great, but I’m sad over the quality of the picture I had paid extra for. The picture looked poor when it came it, but I wasn’t too worried about it because how good could the picture really come out on the porous surface of the speaker, fine, whatever. In our recent Clip series like our JBL Clip 5 does not include a built-in microphone, as this model focuses on music playback. If you are looking for a portable speaker with a speakerphone, you might want to check out our JBL Go 2. Solid little speaker with great sound

Love the personalization
I absolutely love that you can personalize the speaker. I wish I would have went with a brighter photo (one taken outside versus inside). The photo I went with wasn’t completely dark, but it appears dark on the speaker which is why I gave this a 3 star review. What?!?
Came here specifically to write a review- we use our JBL (we call it “Jibble”) all the time and it’s awesome BUT we were recently a little over served and somehow this thing fell INTO a hot tub and was left overnight- got it out and it worked perfectly. Probably not the prescribed usage per JBL but wanted to pass the anecdote on to endorse a truly well made product!

Great sound but needs a few tweaks
The sound from the speaker is very good, what I have come to expect from JBL. However on the Clip in black that I purchased the power / pair and one other button are not visible since the button is black and the plastic is black. Hence the buttons cannot be seen.

Our JBL Portable app allows you to update your JBL Clip 5's software by connecting the speaker to the app on your Android or iOS device. You can check for, download, and install firmware updates directly through the app. Additionally, the app lets you pair two JBL Clip 5 speakers for stereo mode. To set this up, both speakers must be powered on and connected to the app. Once paired, you can create a stereo group directly within the app interface.

Doesn't last if up loud
The speaker is good but dies in 6 ish hours if up im a rubbish man so needs to be up fairly loud to hear it over background noise usually at 70 %80 all the way up if something good comes on can play the volume easily but I've never had a speaker or headphones that didn't last a similar amount of time no matter what volume it was on or music it was playing pretty bad wh...

Big sound
Loving it so far! The custom image I requested looks great. Great sound for a little speaker, and it suits my musical taste from electronic music, some punk/indie and a little classic rock stuff. I would’ve liked the integrated battery life on the control screen of iOS and they gave an option for that more blue gray base color.

Amazing speaker however the clip in its name is honestly misleading as mine unclipped at some point throughout the day and is now lost. Beware always make sure it’s still hooked on as it’s easy to lose
