cheap printer heads.
This is my third 8550. For the price I should not have the issues that are occuring. Right out of the box it needed head cleaning. when I printed a nozzle check red was not properly coming out and the black is just awful when trying to print a black photo. I returned the second one and got a new one with a full warranty. Well after only 3 months I will be returning that...

Absolute Best!
Best printer I have ever had. The color is fantastic and the rear paper feeder is a must have. Especially for crafters and artists that use high GSM paper.

Pass On This One
After over a year of use with nothing but frustration i recommend if you are considering this printer, pass on by! Even if you use over priced Epson paper there is no assurance your printer will print on it without multiple sheets being destroyed in the process. Evreytime I press the print key I feel I have better odds of hitting a jackpot in Vegas than getting 4x6 phot...

A really good printer.
Fantastic color! This time I spent more money on a printer and I do not regret it. As a visual artist I need good quality printing. The only regret I do have is to not have purchased this printer sooner. I could have saved myself a lot of money in the long run.

Easy setup, bad software decisions
Very easy to set up. I wanted this for multi-purpose usage - documents AND good quality photos. Easy Peasy set up !!
I just got my new printer set up, which BTW was really easy. Used it for the 1st time to print a couple 13x19 photos, and absolutely love the way they look . I highly recommend this printer to anyone wishing to print larger photos !

Poor quality when printing photos.
Quality is not up to my expectations of this printer. Printing photos is the reason I purchased this specific printer. For the price, the pictures should look way better. I tried numerous brands and sizes of photo paper. So disappointed. Color seems off and prints are grainy. This printer is just not that good.

Two problems
The prints are great. There are two problems with the design. In order to change the paper in Cassette 2, you have to push in the paper tray. The tray does not feel particularly sturdy, so repeated pushing worries me. No problems yet except time wasted. Prints exactly as described. Does everything I needed a larger printer to do. The color is fantastic & no more ink cartridges. Saves money in the long run. Pretty quiet & new learning curve for me. A nesseccary tool.
It's a real printer. I don't know everything about photo printing but when I get printed photos that match the monitor, that's impressive. It holds a massive amounts of ink so refills are few and far between. Many pros use this printer and it's awsome.
