Quality
This is a proper pencil sharpener with 2 cutters, not one that cheap ones use. The pencils are sharpened to a good point and not off centered!!

Manual Pecil Sharpener
As with other reviewers, the sharpener unevenly sharpens the pencil, overly sharpening one side and causing the other to still have wood attached. Bought for a classroom donation and must seek to find one that works well as a manual and not electric one.

Staying sharp
I replaced the WWII sharpener I inherited. It was off center and roughly chewing pencils. I plan to leave this one to my heirs in a couple of decades or so.

Return first one
I had to return first one. For some reason, every time it was used the outcome was the same. Offset point. New one works better.

Looks great, but...
The fit and finish are lovely, shiny. Unfortunately, of the first seven or so pencils I tried it on, three emerged with the lead shielded by wood on one side. Conclusion: the sharpening mechanism and the holes on the side don't share the same axis. So the pencil isn’t centered when it’s being sharpened. Lame. Gonna take it back.

Got mechanical pencil sharpener available no where else. Do not have to depend on electricity availability so important now.

Just a old fashioned manual pencil sharpener. No need really, for a rating.
But it was difficult to attach the 3 screws to a hardwood desk.

Old school wins!

Works great, not what I wanted
When my X-ACTO sharpener with the vacuum base stopped working after 5 years or more, I returned to Staples to get another. No longer available! The only way to use it is to attach to a suitable base (table , wall etc.). The vacuum base is much handier, you can attach to any smooth surface. Why not keep this simple, functional machine in stock?
