    Members of The Watercooler program receive FREE products from participating vendors in exchange for unbiased feedback. These trusted reviewers are asked to voice their opinions (good or bad) about products on Staples.com to help customers make better, more informed buying decisions. These reviews are the independent opinions of the reviewers and are not influenced or edited by the participating vendor or Staples. All program reviews are identified with a unique member badge.

  • Why does Staples have this program?

    The Watercooler program was created to provide customers with valuable product information and feedback to help them choose products and make better, more informed buying decisions.

  • Are reviewers expected to write positive reviews?

    Absolutely not. We encourage reviewers to provide their unbiased opinion about the product — good or bad.

  • Are reviewers compensated for writing reviews or incentivized to write favorable reviews?

    Members of The Watercooler program receive products for free, but do not receive any monetary compensation for writing reviews.

  • Where does Staples get the products?

    Products are provided by the manufacturers and vendors participating in the program.

  • Can participating vendors contact or otherwise influence reviewers?

    No. Vendors have no contact with members of The Watercooler program other than to send the sampled items. They cannot influence the reviewers nor can they preview or edit the reviews written.
